According to Aristotle Onassis, the secret of business is to know something
that nobody else knows. This statement clearly illustrates the efforts
and struggles a successful businessman today, had put in during the formative
years of his life back then.
The primal factors which are deemed necessary in
establishing and upbringing a business, are vision and determination. Whatever
you are going to start, entire visionary horizon must be as clear as day and in
order to transform your dreams envisioned in your vision, a determination must
be there that acts as a driving force. Instead of general chitter-chatter,
let’s move and discuss the steps, which one must take before taking a leap of
starting a business or a start-up formally.
1. Write down your vision:

“Vision” is like a road map. That keeps reminding you what to
achieve and what’s proper channel to follow in order to achieve a certain
milestone. The foremost step before starting a business should be, to chalk out
your vision in black and blue and always start by keeping your goal in mind. It
will act as a beacon of light and will redirect you back to your path if you go
astray.
2. Research your market:
Out of the most important and boring step that leads to the doorstep
of establishing a business, is getting to know your competitors out there in
the market. This process is known as “Market Survey” and it determines what the
competitors across the market are offering and what measures you need to take
in order to make your product available to the customers.
3. Create something you can sell:
Serious business needs serious thinking. A man of words once said
that problems create opportunities for those who aim to solve them. Think about
the prevailing problems that have not been addressed to, till now. Take up that
problem and start about thinking the solution. Once the solution has been
devised, go on and automate the solution in the form of any smartphone
application or a hardware product instead. Always try to go for the business
that aims to solve an existing problem and you won’t even know how early you
have climbed up the success ladder.
4. Get a website:
Once the product has been developed, monetize your services and
now as we live in the world of technology, getting a website should be the
first step. Every business needs enough marketing that acts as a head start to
make your product available to the outside world, and marketing by using
website is the well-adopted strategy.
5. Start a Facebook Page:
Facebook has become the most adopted platform for the beginners as
well as well-established businesses have started creating and offering their
services Facebook pages so that they can reach out to the places where the
companies and corporations cannot afford to establish outlets.
6. Learn how to sell:
Every business, which emerges out of a herd of hundreds of local
start-ups, definitely needs a salesman/saleswomen who convinces the customers
to buy your product rather than going for any other one. You must hire such
people with sound intercommunication and interpersonal skills with enough
abilities to make your product worth buying.
7. Go for Quality:
If you want your product to attain the monopoly, you must know how
to deliver the best to the customers. Always strive for quality and care less
about the quantity as at the end, the quality product is the one that becomes a
brand while others diminish.
8. Price Control:
Before launching the services that you are offering, it is
imperative to set such a price tag that makes sense and comes at par with the
buying capacity of the inhabitants. If you are providing the best
services/products with a huge price tag, nobody is going to buy because the
buying capacity is not that much. Therefore, it is better to start with a
nominal amount than to take high and non-sense leaps about pricing.
9. Learn to deal with challenges:
Once you have girded up your loins to start a business, you must
know how to tackle problems that the path to success awaits. Always try to go
for solving the vital few, rather than opting to solve the trivial many. Many
problems are the stems of a bigger problem so try to identify and eradicate the
bigger one.
10. Open to criticism:
Always
be up and ready for criticisms. Be open minded and stay cool. People will not
take your initiative as a Planned Business Venture that will serve their
purpose, rather they will adopt the strategy of stigmatizing your business
initiative as a work of an indolent snob who has got plenty of time to waste.
Let them say what they want to, you must not let yourself go astray because the
business whose vision you have planned, will become a brand and your services
will be acknowledged, as once said by the owner of Ali Baba retail store. Jack
Ma says, never give up. Today is hard, tomorrow will be
worse, but the day after tomorrow will be the sunshine.
